The Village: Downtown Saratoga
Known throughout Silicon Valley as Saratoga Village or simply “the Village,” downtown Saratoga is one of the region’s favorite destinations. Overlooked by a lush backdrop of hills covered with deep forests of towering redwoods, this quaint and peaceful downtown area is the heart of the city. At Team Ardizzone & Howmiller, we have lived and worked as Saratoga Realtors in the area for several decades and we know that there’s no more ideal a setting for a leisurely after-dinner stroll or a wine tasting.
While the Village is not as large in size or in its selection of establishments as, say, downtown Los Gatos, there are many historically significant buildings here as well as a wide range of shops and restaurants to choose from. The Village has also been undergoing a revitalization of sorts in recent years, with several new businesses having opened their doors in the area.
As any Saratoga Realtor will tell you, the Village is valued by residents for its old-fashioned small-town appeal. Most, if not all, of the establishments here are independently owned and the vast majority of residents object strongly to allowing chain stores to set up shop in the Village. People who choose to live in Saratoga, after all, do so precisely because the city has retained its village-like appeal in the more than a hundred years since its founding.
If you’re interested in learning more about what the city has to offer, your Saratoga Realtors at Team Ardizzone & Howmiller are always available for a consultation.
