Wineries
Los Gatos and its nearby areas in the Santa Cruz Mountains is prime grape-growing region, with a tradition of viticulture and winemaking that dates back to the 19th century. As residents of the region, Los Gatos, California Realtors Rick Ardizzone, John Howmiller and Jeff McLaughlin of Team Ardizzone & Howmiller enjoy living close to wine country and having instant access to the excellent vintages that the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA (American Viticultural Area) produces.
There are around a dozen wineries within 20 minutes or less of downtown Los Gatos. Just a hop, skip and jump away is Testarossa Vineyards, a noted producer of pinot noir, chardonnay and syrah, which is located in what was once the Novitiate Winery, established in 1888. The award-winning David Bruce Winery, whose chardonnay was among those judged in the historic Judgment of Paris (the Paris Wine Tasting of 1976), is famous for producing some of the most highly regarded pinot noir in the world.
As your Los Gatos, California Realtors at Team Ardizzone & Howmiller will tell you, wine tasting and visiting local wineries is a favorite activity in the area. Not only do you get to sample some truly excellent wines, but since the wineries are located in a higher elevation, you also get to enjoy panoramic vistas of the lower hills and the Santa Clara Valley below.
Other wineries worth noting are the Burrell School Vineyards and Winery; Byington Vineyard and Winery; Silver Mountain Vineyards; and Fleming Jenkins Vineyards and Winery, which has a tasting room in downtown Los Gatos.
When you work with the Los Gatos, California Realtors of Team Ardizzone & Howmiller, we will do our best to make sure that your experience will be as smooth and enjoyable as a first-rate glass of pinot noir.
